Re-birthday of Alabama Line Showcasing Nashvegas
Caddle went to Nashville last week to play at the re-birthday of Alabama Line. The guys at Xaust media put this on and it's turning
into quite a little fandango for the Nashville scene. So Tim and Curt invited us to play the first of hopefully many more to come last
Thursday Aug 3. We had some meetings to attend early in the afternoon across the street from the bar and were able to get in on
all the pre-party festivities. Of course, that meant we started drinkin about 4pm and weren't scheduled to play till 10pm. That
turned into a 200 dollar tab quite quickly.
Chance from the music mafia was to play so of course big Kenny of Lovejoi fame and now of Big and Rich (and i do mean RICH)
was there and the not so big in stature but huge in wallet john rich stood close nearby. The Thomas walker band did a set and
then our buddy ol buck Jones with Billy Block on drums did a little set. We got to hang out with our new friend Melanie, who's
opening one of those fancy pants kind of stores (boutique), and our newest little friend Presley Tucker (Tanya's little girl) who will
be doing big things in the years to come. What a pleasure she is to be around. Now she's the real deal, not so much like some
of the other notables in attendance. Also, Michael Jeffers of Chris Knight and Pinmonkey came out to see us and brought his
friend Rick Alter. Jeffers is a super nice fella and plays in great bands, so go and check Chris knight and Pinmonkey out.
After show....refused entrance to nudie bar, the band following us in their van got pulled over, went to printers alley drank buckets of beer,
Drew sang, "Wishing Well" in the karaoke bar, loaded up the van, back in Birmingham 8 am.

Review of Mucklewain - Steve's Myspace Blog
Before I went to the Songwriters' "Tent", I caught sets by Caddle (the one Birmingham, AL, entry of the day) and Glossary. Caddle
simply ROCKED! Their mix of Southern Country-Rock-Boogie recalls the fun that Jason & the Scorchers used to bring to the
stage in their day (which I hope, is not over!). Even as Caddle finished their set, a woman who was standing next to my buddy
and I (and apparaently seeing the band for the first time) turned and exclaimed, "Were they not amazing?!" Frontman Phillip
Hyde, imo, has the perfect stage presence...active (and interactive) without looking like he's trying to hard. The guy exudes "Cool";
but never takes himself too seriously; as evidence by his frank, and often-times hilarious, stage banter. The other four members
play like the constantly-touring band that they are; with bassist Chris Pottratz getting my vote for "Best Rock
Performance--Bassist" of the day. To check out Steve's full blog / review of Mucklewain click here.
